Hugh Jackman Cancer Scare Sends Twitter Into A Frenzy
Hugh Jackman is getting checked for skin cancer - again. This news had Twitter users in a frenzy today, talking about skin cancer and their worry over the X-Men actor.
Jackman recently had another lesion removed from his nose to get tested for basal cell cancer - the most common type of skin cancer. The biopsy was inconclusive, however, which means he will have to get it retested - and that fans are still on the edge of their seats.

The 52-year-old actor has been treated for skin cancer on his nose more than five times. Fortunately, he has always caught it before it spread to other parts of his body. In previous social media posts, he can be seen with a bandage over his nose. The most recent occurrence prior to this was in 2017.
Upon hearing the news, Twitter users were sent into a frenzy. Many were upset to hear about the actor's health status.
Many others brought up people they knew or know with skin cancer.
A few Twitter users also brought up an actress who recently passed away from cancer - Markie Post. Post starred in Night Court and Hearts Afire, in the 80s and 90s.

Jackman has, in the past, stressed the importance of wearing sunscreen and getting frequent checks if you see an unusual mark on your skin, and he's taking this opportunity to do so again, as most skin cancers are caused by exposure to the ultraviolet rays that sunscreen blocks.
About 1 in 5 people will be diagnosed with skin cancer each year in America. More than 8 in 10 of the Americans diagnosed with skin cancer have basal cell carcinoma.
Skin cancer is the most likely cancer to spread to lymph nodes and other organs. This is why it is important to catch it in its early stages. The survival rate is much higher when it is caught before it spreads than after it spreads.
Jackman is rumored to be working on four projects at the moment, including a Broadway production, a spy biopic called The Good Spy, and a biopic called Enzo Ferrari about the founder of the Ferrari car company. None of these have opening or release dates as of yet.
