Conor McGregor Turned Down Several Roles Before Finally Agreeing To Road House
Back in 2021, Conor McGregor admitted that there was lots of interest as it pertained to his potential Hollywood career. Conor had got lots of offers, and was pondering over which one was best at the time.
"There are many offers. There is an offer right now, a nice offer to play a villain and it's a good one. I get these offers all the time, to be honest with you. Let's see what happens."
McGregor would also discuss backing out of a Vikings offer, despite the show's popularity.
"I was supposed to be in the Vikings and I pulled out last minute. They were very upset and I apologized over that. It's been the fight business for me and I can dominate show business. I have enough experience with the camera on my face. I would not be fazed by acting or any of that."
Vin Diesel would also confirm the interest in Conor McGregor, stating that he was considered for a role in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, but backed out following his UFC loss to Nate Diaz.
"I had created a role for Conor McGregor, and after he lost to Nate Diaz, he had to go to a dark place, he had to go get his manhood back to fight the second time, so he wasn't able to do this film at the time," Diesel revealed.
Well, a lot has changed since then, and it seems like McGregor gave his Hollywood career a try, working on the film, Road House.
Conor McGregor Deleted A Tweet In Which He Claimed To Be The Highest-Paid First Time Actor
According to McGregor himself, he made quite the penny for his performance in Road House. In a now-deleted tweet, McGregor revealed that he had become the highest-paid debuting actor.
"I’m the highest-paid first-time actor of all time. Add that to the rest of my accolades.”
McGregor would make another reveal about his time in the film, stating that he decided against a body double, given that it didn't look like him. Conor decided to work the stunts despite the fact that he was still injured at the time.
"I'm still recovering. I done all my stunts for this. I didn't think the stunt double we had looked like me so I wouldn't have him used. To my detriment. It was hard work."
Conor's terms of his deal have yet to be disclosed, nonetheless, the hype for his debut film is already very real. Even his co-star Jake Gyllenhaal felt the pressure over the role.

The actor revealed, "We just finished filming and there are big shoes to fill."
He continues, "Patrick was a friend when he was here," he shared. "He was always so loving and lovely to me, and I take that all to heart in playing the role and there are some things I take from him, but generally we made a whole new movie, and I’m really excited about it."
The hype for Road House is already very real, especially following McGregor and Gyllenhaal's recent appearance at the UFC 285 event. However, a premiere date is yet to be set, and it seems as though the film might be released the following year in 2024.
