John Morrison has transformed into “Johnny Drip Drip” in recent months, and now his wife, Franky Money (formerly known as Taya Valkyrie) has revealed where the name and the persona behind it came from.

In an interview with Rick Ucchino of Sportskeeda Wrestling, Monet shared the origin story of “Johnny Drip Drip,” and described how it was born two years ago.

“The origin story of ‘Johnny Drip Drip’ is about two years ago, we were all driving in a car, me, John, Tessa [Blanchard] and Kiera [Hogan] after a taping, to go and eat dinner at this 24-hour diner, something ridiculous in New York,” said Monet. “And we were playing Cardi B in the car, and we were all delusional from lack of sleep and all this kind of stuff and being super hungry. And John, I don’t know if anyone knows this, but John likes to rap.

“So he started rapping to Cardi B and then it was within that car ride that ‘Johnny Drip Drip was born.’ It just became a thing.”

Monet then described how the WWE Universe met ‘Johnny Drip Drip’ in the first music video Morrison and The Miz made for WWE programming last year, and te former IMPACT World Champion has continued to roll with it.

As for all of Morrison’s puns and his usage of the word “moist,” Monet joked that there’s a lot of “drip drip” talk behind the scenes, and she’s okay with it because Morrison is having a lot of fun.

“Listen, sometimes there’s a lot of drip drip talk, okay, it’s a lot,” said Monet. “But he’s having the most fun I’ve seen him have in a long time. So I just kind of go okay, yeah.”

While Monet is excited to show everyone “Franky Drip Drip” if/when she works with Morrison on-screen, she emphasized that she wants the fans to know who she is an individual first and foremost.

“I think that we have unconditional chemistry that can not be denied on-screen [and] in the ring,” said Monet. “But I want to make a point of having the WWE Universe learn who I am on my own as well. I’m being reintroduced to some fans who have never heard of me, and I just think it’s important that they get to know who I am on my own first.

“So eventually, absolutely. I can’t wait for ‘Franky Drip Drip.’ But I’m also just really excited to find my way and have everyone know who I am and what I bring to the table on my own as well.”
